I applied for a Claude Pro refund but haven't heard anything for days

Anonymous7/26/2026· Views 154
I paid, and the next day I realized I'd accidentally been charged twice, so I sent an email requesting a refund, but it's been 5 days with no response. There's also no trace of the charge cancellation on my card company's side yet. Does anyone know how long refund processing usually takes? I'm wondering if it might actually be faster to just dispute it directly with my card company.

Hello, this is from the admin. To get straight to the point: Anthropic doesn't officially specify a refund processing timeline, so it's hard to say that five days without a response is abnormal by itself. That said, it's also reasonable to consider filing a chargeback with your card company at the same time. After checking, I found that the Anthropic support center has information about how to cancel subscriptions and that API credits are non-refundable, but there's no publicly available specific timeframe for when Pro plan refund requests get processed. So I can't in good conscience give you a hard deadline on how long it usually takes. That said, here are a few practical tips that might help. 1. Check whether your refund request email included receipts or payment history screenshots that confirm your charge date and duplicate charge. If they're missing, sending them along in a follow-up could speed things up. 2. Also check your account settings under the billing menu to see if there's a separate refund status or processing history shown. 3. Filing a chargeback is something you can do in parallel, but keep in mind that if both the vendor refund and the card company action process at the same time, it could result in double refunds or account problems. I'd recommend sending Anthropic one more follow-up email first, and only starting the chargeback process if you still don't get a response after a reasonable amount of time.
