My Claude limit got reset but it feels like I'm hitting it again right away

Hello, this is the admin team. To get straight to the point, even after a reset, conversation length and attached files still affect usage. The situation you describe is more likely caused by this structure than by a malfunction. A reset clears the usage you've already used up. It doesn't make your previous conversation lighter. Every time you send a new message, Claude processes the earlier content of that conversation and its attached files again. So if you pick up a long conversation right after a reset, even one or two short questions use up a lot. If you attached several code files, those files stay in the processing for every message after that. Limits are based on the amount of computation processed, not the number of messages, and the exact figures have not been officially published. Even with the same number of questions, the rate at which usage is consumed can differ greatly depending on how you use it. We suggest checking the following in this order. 1. After a reset, don't continue the previous long conversation. Start a new chat instead. 2. Only attach the code files and sections you actually need. Also avoid re-uploading the same file in every conversation. 3. Put materials you reference often into Projects and use them from there. 4. Larger models, extended thinking, research, and similar features consume more usage. For simple questions, use a lighter setup. 5. Some plans also have a weekly limit on top of the 5-hour limit, so check the usage display in your settings to see which limit you've hit. The fact that you hit the limit within an hour is most likely because you exchanged many messages right after the reset in a conversation with attached files. However, since I can't see your account status or which features you were using at the time, it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause. We've covered habits that help you hit limits less often in detail in the guide below. https://usingclaude.com/ko/pricing/plans/reduce-claude-usage
