I canceled my Claude Pro subscription—does that delete my card info too?

I registered a card to try out Pro this month, but then canceled the subscription. But when I check my payment settings, the card still seems to be there. Are canceling a subscription and deleting a card two separate things? Do I need to go through a separate deletion process to completely remove my card info, or does it just stay there without automatic charges?

Let me start by explaining whether auto-billing continues after you cancel. When you cancel your subscription, no renewal charges will happen after that. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and you can still use Pro features until then. Just because your card still shows on the payment settings screen doesn't mean you'll be auto-charged. Your card info sticks around because, according to the official docs, Claude's payment settings don't actually have a delete card function. You can only 'replace' your card (when you add a new one, it replaces the old one). Your previous card won't be charged, but it may remain stored with the payment processor (like Stripe). If you want your card info completely removed, you'll need to contact Anthropic support directly.
