What Claude connectors are you actually using that are useful?

I connected Google Drive but couldn't really use it, so I've left it unused... I haven't met anyone who uses connectors, so I'm not sure if there's anything actually useful for work. I think Gmail and Sheets connectors exist too, but I'm curious how you actually use them in daily life or at work. If there's something worth using, please recommend it.

Hi, admin here. Short answer: Connectors work best when you use them to pull in your own files, emails, and calendar events directly into your chats so Claude has context—and each connector has very clear limits on what it can and can't do. Understanding each connector's actual scope shows you how to use it. 1. Google Drive connector: It searches your drive and reads file contents to add context to your conversation. For example, you can ask "Find contracts mentioning net-60 terms in my proposals folder" using natural language search. But it can't edit, move, or delete files. Google Sheets can be read as CSV for analysis, but if you need to change cell values or work with formulas directly, you'll need a separate MCP server. 2. Gmail connector: It searches your inbox in natural language, summarizes email threads, and saves draft replies to your Gmail account. But it can't send emails—drafts go into your inbox and you hit send yourself. Anthropic keeps this human-in-the-loop by design. 3. Google Calendar connector: This one can read, create, modify, and delete events. It has the broadest write permissions of the three. Here are three real-world scenarios I'd recommend. 1. Clean up long email threads: Connect Gmail, then ask "Pull out the decisions from last week's emails about project A" and it'll grab the context and summarize. 2. Draft from drive docs: When you have proposals or notes in Drive, just paste the URL and Claude reads it without you having to copy it—then writes your response. 3. Manage your calendar: You can ask "Add a 30-minute team meeting tomorrow at 3 PM" and it creates the event directly. One important note: all connectors only work when you start the conversation. They won't auto-respond to incoming emails or run in the background. On privacy: the connectors only access data in your connected Google account, and Gmail, Drive, and Calendar data aren't used to train the model, according to the official docs.
