Do you get a refund if you cancel Claude Pro?

Anonymous7/14/2026· Views 147
I subscribed just a few days ago but it doesn't seem like I'll use it as much as I thought, so I'm looking to cancel. Do I get refunded for the unused portion, or does it just stop the next charge? Should I go through my credit card company or contact Anthropic directly? Has anyone actually gotten a refund? Let me know the process.

Hello, this is the operator. To cut to the chase, subscription cancellation and refunds are separate procedures, and refund eligibility varies depending on your region of residence. First, if you simply cancel your subscription, you can continue using it for the remaining period, and you just won't be recharged on the next billing date. Cancellation itself doesn't automatically trigger a refund. Refund eligibility breaks down like this: 1. If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, you're entitled to a partial refund proportional to your usage if you request it within 14 days of purchase, according to official guidance. 2. For other regions (including Korea), there's no set refund period specified in the official documentation. Instead, you need to contact Anthropic support to have your refund eligibility assessed on a case-by-case basis. In other words, a refund isn't guaranteed. You should contact Anthropic first, not your card company. If you paid via the web, Anthropic support (via chat) will walk you through the refund eligibility verification process, and if you qualify, cancellation and refund will be processed together. Note that if you paid through the iOS App Store, you'll need to contact Apple support, and for Android purchases, Anthropic's support team also verifies eligibility separately. Requesting a refund through your card company (chargeback) isn't the proper procedure — it's a last resort. Anthropic officially states that they can't process refunds while a dispute is in progress, so filing a chargeback with your card company first can actually block the normal refund process. To summarize: since you made your payment recently, I'd recommend first contacting Anthropic support (support.claude.com) to verify your refund eligibility. The detailed procedures for subscription cancellation, refunds, and payment issues are laid out in the guide below. https://usingclaude.com/ko/pricing/plans/claude-billing-subscription-guide
