What is the file upload size limit for Claude Projects knowledge files?

While using the Pro plan, I've been continuously uploading reference materials to my projects, but at some point I stopped being able to add files. I'm not sure what's wrong because the files just won't upload with no notification message about whether it's a storage limit or file count limit. Does anyone know the exact limit? I'm curious about both the per-file size limit and the total combined storage limit.

Here's what we've confirmed: 1. The maximum size for a single file is 30MB. That's the official standard that applies across Claude uploads and downloads generally. 2. The total combined size for all project knowledge doesn't have a published limit in MB or GB. Instead, when the files you've uploaded get close to your context window limit, Claude automatically switches to RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) mode, which effectively lets you store about 10x more material at maximum capacity. 3.
