Admins of Claude Enterprise organizations can now use the Surveys feature to ask members short, in-product questions about how they use Claude, and review the aggregated answers in the Admin console — the screen where organization settings are managed. According to the official Help Center article, this feature is currently a beta offering limited to the Enterprise plan, and surveys can appear directly in the Chat screen or in Cowork, Claude's collaborative workspace. This article walks through the steps to create a survey along with the permissions and restrictions you should check beforehand.

Fable 5 and 5.1 subscription (updated November 1, 2026): Claude Fable 5.1, released September 1, 2026, is the current Fable model and Fable 5 is now legacy. Plan terms are the same for both — Max, Ultra, and Team Premium plans include Fable at up to 50% of the weekly usage limit; Pro and Team Standard use usage credits ($10/M input, $50/M output tokens). The one-time $100 credit applied only to the Fable 5 transition and is not offered for 5.1. Some coding and debugging requests may be answered by an Opus model due to a security classifier (both models). See the Fable 5.1 guide and the Fable 5 availability guide for details.
What you'll be able to do
By following this article, you'll understand the full flow of creating and scheduling a survey from an organization admin account, and reviewing its responses in the Admin console. The setup itself takes only a few minutes — the more important part is confirming beforehand that your plan and role actually meet the requirements.
Before you start
To use Surveys, your organization needs to be on the Enterprise plan, and your account needs the right permissions. The official Help Center article specifies the following conditions.
- Plan — Surveys is a beta feature available only on the Enterprise plan. Because it's in beta, it may not yet appear in the Admin console for every organization.
- Role — Only Primary Owners, Owners, Admins, or accounts with a custom role that includes analytics-viewing access can create and view surveys.
If you're not sure whether your account meets these conditions, check with another admin in your organization or verify your own role in the Admin console first.
Quick glossary
- Surveys — A feature that lets admins ask members short questions about how they use Claude and review the collected answers.
- Admin console — The screen where an organization's settings, roles, and usage are managed.
- Analytics — The menu inside the Admin console for viewing usage data and statistics; Surveys lives under this menu.
- Cowork — Claude's collaborative workspace screen.
- Beta — A trial stage before a full release. Features and conditions can change, and the feature may not yet be visible to every organization.
- CMEK (customer-managed encryption keys) — A security option that lets an organization manage its own encryption keys.
- HIPAA / PHI — HIPAA is a US healthcare data privacy regulation, and PHI (protected health information) refers to the personal health data it protects.
How to create a survey
The official article describes the following steps.
- In the Admin console, go to Analytics > Surveys. If you don't see this menu, check whether your role meets the requirements above, or whether the beta feature simply hasn't rolled out to your organization yet.
- Click the "New survey" button.
- Enter a survey name. This name is for internal admin use only and isn't shown to members.
- Set a start and end date.
- Choose the audience. You can send it to everyone in the organization or to a specific group.
- Choose where it appears. You can select Chat, Cowork, or both.
- Review the default questions. They cover a few topics — the value members get from Claude, changes in time spent, what they'd recommend it for, and the impact of losing access — and you can edit them if needed.
- Schedule it or save it as a draft. Scheduling makes it appear to the chosen audience starting on the date you set; saving as a draft lets you finish setting it up later.
How to review responses
You can review results in the Surveys screen of the Admin console, which shows response counts, response rates, and a breakdown by channel (Chat vs. Cowork). You can also filter by group, and export the results as a CSV file.
Things to watch out for
Not every Enterprise organization can use this feature unconditionally — availability depends on your organization's security and compliance settings.
| Organization type | Can use Surveys? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Enterprise organization | Yes (beta) | - |
| Organization using CMEK | No, not while in beta | Explicitly stated as a limitation in the official article |
| Organization handling HIPAA-regulated data | Yes | But PHI (protected health information) must not be included in survey content |
Caution — If your organization uses CMEK and the Analytics > Surveys menu doesn't appear at all, that's likely this restriction, not a bug. If your organization is subject to HIPAA, it's also worth adding a note when editing questions so members don't accidentally include PHI in their answers.
Next steps
If you'd like a fuller picture beyond survey feedback, check the usage statistics under the Analytics menu in the Admin console as well. There's also a separate feature for managing user feedback settings, so it's worth reviewing both together against your organization's data policies.
