Update (September 27, 2026): In its September 22, 2026 Opus 5.5 announcement, Anthropic said it is increasing five-hour usage limits on Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans and giving subscribers a rate limit reset they can save and use whenever they choose. Update (September 27, 2026): Claude Opus 5.5 was released on September 22, 2026 and is now the current Opus model (API claude-opus-5-5, $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, down from Opus 5's $5/$25). Anthropic says it performs at the level of Fable 5.1 on most work and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5 on typical workloads. Opus 5 remains available but is marked legacy in the official model docs. You can use Claude for free, but usage is limited. It's centered on the default model and suits occasional use.
Pro ($20/month)
The plan most individual users start with. Annual billing is $200, roughly $17/month equivalent. It includes both Claude web/desktop and Claude Code (the terminal coding agent).

Is there annual billing or a discount?
Personal plans like Pro and Max are billed monthly by default. Organizational plans such as Team/Enterprise may have different unit pricing depending on commitment terms; check the official pricing page for details. Which plan should you choose?
Free for light use, Pro for everyday use, and consider Max if you develop seriously with Claude Code. For teams/enterprises, there are separate Team and Enterprise plans.
